Typically when I pick a post shave product, I will gravitate to the after shave splash. Maybe it is what I know, my Dad always splashed on aftershave. Maybe it is that I find the scents last a bit longer. Or perhaps I don’t notice the extra hydrating that a balm is supposed to offer. I still will use an aftershave balm on occasion but I almost always pair it with the matching splash as well.
This product changed all that for me. I was sent this sample (complimentary, as well as a pre-shave to try) from Like Grandpa shave products. This was different than any after shave balms I’ve used thus far. It comes in a tin and I would describe it more as a salve. You take a small amount, work it between your hands and apply to your face. It goes on with a bit of a waxy feel to it. You let it soak in for a bit and then wipe off the excess. Typically I’m not a Sandalwood fan but I love the subtle scent that this carries with it. And hydrating wise, it’s awesome. It feels fantastic and it makes a world of difference.
If I had to give it a knock, I’d say the price point is a bit on the high side compared to other aftershave products in similar quantities. He also only carries 2 scents, so if Tea Tree or Sandalwood don’t do it for you, you are out of luck. Both are small prices to pay for a really good product. I highly recommend checking it. It is something different, and could very well be what you are looking for.
