Soap: Ariana & Evans Choco Cubano

It’s Friday, the weather has turned and I was up bright and early this morning with time for a SOTD. My soap for today is Ariana & Evans Choco Cubano. This was a blind buy that I added on a topofthechain.ca order I recently placed and boy am I glad I did.

The A&E tallow & goat milk soap base has moved into the top echelon of products in my den. I don’t get a huge voluminous lather from it (which used to be the bar I set for a soap, no longer) but you do get a rich, creamy and glossy lather. I find it extremely slick (lathered and residual), great slickness and a fantastic post shave. A&E also tends to bring along a strong scent strength to their products which is also right up my alley.

The scent on this is described as Bergamot, tangerine, vanilla, fig, chocolate truffle, incense, cedar, sandalwood and tobacco. To my nose it is a heavy dose of rich spiced chocolate. It instantly transports me to a destination down south. If you are a fan of chocolate I can’t recommend this enough. It has the richness and body of a chocolate without a fake or sickening sweetness to it.

My only disappointment with this shave is that I was stupid and didn’t get the matching splash (which now seems to be sold out everywhere). I didn’t really have anything in the den with a similar profile that lived up to this scent. Luckily the post shave feel on this was good enough I could forgo and aftershave.
I reminder to always pick up the matching splash. I can see more A&E hitting the den in the future.

Happy Friday All!
