One nice thing about working in the home office is that I have very little worries when it comes to scents. There isn’t a soap/splash option in the den that is ruled out. Luckily my wife has fantastic taste and pretty much gets along with any scent I have acquired. Some she likes more than others, but so far I haven’t been instructed to get rid of one. Man I’m a lucky guy.
Khalifa is a set that I had my eye on for quite some time. This set is A&E’s homage to Nasomatto – Black Afgano. Scent notes on this include cannabis, resin, coffee, tobacco, incense, and oud with some additional subtle woodsy and green notes. This is a very bold fragrance said to evoke the best quality of Hashish. I would describe it as a dark, smokey and resinous scent. You can pick out that cannabis and incense vibe for sure. It is really a unique scent and would likely fall in that love it or hate it category. I can confirm it gets compliments, pretty much every day I’ve used this set since I picked it up I’ve gotten compliments. I’d say the uniqueness gets you noticed.
Scent on this is your typical strong offering from A&E. The scent and splash alone will carry you for hours. No need to comment on the quality of soap/splash, read the history here and you will see how big a fan I am of the bases.
To pair this up I used the Oil Perfumery roll on fragrance oil homage to Black Afgano. If you haven’t heard of them, they have many different options for frag oil dupe versions of many popular niche scents. It is a great budget friendly way to sample different options before leaping in on the real deal. I’ve had a chance to side by side compare several and I think the quality is fantastic. Unsure if this is spot on the homage but it sure smells good to me.
All for now,
