Woke up today feeling the blues…. literally.   I just wanted to pull something blue that wasn’t your typical blue aquatic sent.  A once over the den and this is what I ended up with.

The soap, Nuàvia Blu, is considered to be one of the most respected and luxurious vegan bases out there.  They used to come in these stunning ceramic containers (sadly no more) and the scents are complex and robust.  They do come at a premium price tag, originating all the way from Italy.  Scent on this is a wonderful blend citrus, spicey and sweet with just a touch of floral/musk.  Scent notes on this include:  Orange, Lavender, Artemisia, Eucalyptus, Bergamot, Cumin, Clove, Oregano, Jasmine, Ylang Ylang, amber, Vanilla, Patchouli, Rockrose, Labdanum, White Musk.  Scent is mid strong and really develops as you lather.  It was super easy to lather and performance was excellent.  Cushion and Slickness were great and post shave was easily good enough I could have skipped a balm.  As someone that offers pottery products I appreciate the packaging on these just a bit more.  I have Nuàvia in Green and Blue and just need the Red and Black to complete the set.  If you have those and are interested in feeding my OCD…. hit me up 🙂

Razor today was again the DS Cosmetic DS-D8, today on the RazoRock Barberpole.  I am really digging this razor and am having trouble putting it down.  It works with every blade I’ve tried and gives me very smooth and efficient shaves.  And speaking of blades…. how about these Bruce Lee beauties?  lol.  I saw them and had to have them.  I picked up 100 on ebay for a song.  They are super stainless and while not the sharpest or smoothest, they are a good blend of both and in this particular razor gave me an amazing shave.  I’d say they don’t hold up well in my beard growth (3 shaves max) but do feel comfortable while they last.

Post shave, I wanted to hydrate up as the Saskatchewan Winter has kicked the crap out of my skin.  This unscented balm from Highland Springs is a real workhorse.  I can use it with anything and it gives me a really nice skin feel without being heavy or tacky.  I don’t reach for balms often but when I do, this is right at the front of the shelf.

I’ve been digging the frags a bit lately now that I’m working at home and not concerned about co-workers.  Today I grabbed Versace Eros from the shelf.  This fragrance has a creamy sweet scent with a touch of citrus so it bridged with the soap perfectly.

Smelling like an absolute boss today.  How’s that for curing the blues?  All for now – J
