Burberry Brit for men is one of those staple fragrances I’ve had in my collection for quite some time.  It was launched almost 20 years ago and I’m pretty sure I picked it up fairly quickly upon release.  It doesn’t smell dated and I still wear it today.  When I found out Stirling Soap Co was doing a dupe of this scent I knew I had to pick it up.

Burberry Brit offers notes of Ginger, Cardamom, Green Mandarin, Bergamot, Wild Rose, Nutmeg, Cedar and Spicy Notes, Tonka Bean, Cedar, Gray Musk, Oriental Woodsy notes and Patchouli.  It is what I would describe as an elegant Powdery Woody fragrance.  It is very approachable and something I’d say you can dress up or dress down depending on your mood.  I can say Stirling did a bang up job on this one.  Strength off the tub is a solid medium and it does open up a bit once lathered.  If this fragrance is in your collection, I highly suggest adding this soap.  I’ve spoken about it before but I’ll mention it again here, Stirling continues to bring out one of the best dollar value shaving products out there.  You get a huge 6oz of soap with solid fragrances and excellent performance for the price.  I always have great shaves with Stirling.

I’m trying to commit to my badger brushes a bit more lately.  I had found myself in the pattern of heavily grabbing synthetics and leaving my badgers untouched for extended periods.  When I went back to them I was getting inconsistent performance and the less I used them the worse that was getting.  It is all technique so I’m going to give them an extended run so I can get that consistency back.  Today was a big win.  While this brush doesn’t have a great knot (a 21mm Frank Shaving Best Badger), it continues to shed more than I like, I still got an awesome lather today.  Heavy heavy load was the trick.  Did a rare face lather and had no issues dialing it in and having enough lather in the brush for 3 passes.

No post shave product needed today, The weather is warming up so it isn’t playing the havoc it usually does with my skin.  That combined with the solid soap performance meant I could skip a post.  I did follow up with a few sprays of the OG EDT and can confirm, it smells fantastic.

Great Sunday morning shave.  All for now – J
