#samplesaturday I picked up this Parker 96R in a trade at our last meetup so I decided to give it a go. It was nice and mild. An overall good shave. I also pulled this sample as I already had it on my sample wall and had fallen in love with it. It is currently on my acquisition list. Well in the PIF box there was a sample of the splash, so I made sure to grab that as well, It is a blend of leather, tobacco flower, cedar, anise, oakmoss, and patchouli. I love how L&L describes it: “This is what I imagine John Wayne’s kitchen smelling like – soft leather, vaguely appley, with a twist of some kind of baking spice.” Right on the money, a manly Saturday shave. PS – what do you do when the soap gives you an absolutely deadly lather and there is left overs in the bowl? You take a practise pass with that straight you’ve been learning on….
