I grabbed old faithful today. Something about this Wild Rose scent just does it for me. This isn’t your typical floral rose. This particular scent has a bit of zip to it. Ken from Like Grandpa is coming to town today and we are having a small meetup so it reminded me I hadn’t used this in a while. Like Grandpa offers some lighter scents with a very approachable soap base. This soap will lather in any water type, can handle water and gives a nice creamy lather. It is a great soap for beginners and scents will work with even the most sensitive types.
One thing Like Grandpa doesn’t have that I really miss is an aftershave splash. They do have a wonderful balm (very hydrating for our extreme prairie winters) but most days I just like a quick splash to quickly get me out the door and to carry the scent for a little while. Today I grabbed Wholly Kaw Chypre Rose Concerto splash from my den and it was a perfect compliment. Scent notes are lime, bergamot, rose, lavender, rosemary, geranium, lilac, labdanum, patchouli, oakmoss and cedarwood. The citrus really works with the rose to give that zip factor bridging the scents perfectly. The resin, patchouli and oakmoss elevate this slightly floral/citrus into a really nice masculine accord.
A fantastic shave to start the week.
