I did some wheeing and dealing lately and turned over some things in my shave den. I often like to swap out a items I don’t care for or don’t use and bring in some new items to explore. That is another fun thing about the hobby, having others to trade things with. This Chiseled Face Easy Street set was one of the items I picked up.
It has been a while since I last used a Chiseled Face product. I’ve seen this one out and about a lot so I wanted to give it a try. I checked the Chiseled Face website and I don’t see it listed so it is either a seasonal or a discontinued set. Scent notes on this are green tea, citrus, bergamot, rose, nutmeg, and ginger with hints of musk and woods. Up front I get that green tea, fresh yuzu/bergamot citrus and ever so slightly floral rose. I only pick up the slightest hint of the other notes, there only to round out the scent. It is a very fresh scent, scent strength is medium. I’d say this would be a good spring/summer wear that you could use for most occasions. It really isn’t in my wheelhouse and while I liked it, it wouldn’t be one I would reach for often.
The base itself is quite good. While not on par with some of the elite bases out there, it is still more than serviceable. Slickness both lathered and residual are good, as is the post shave. Soap load and lather build is quite easy with this tallow base and will build a higher structure/lower gloss lather. No issues today and got a great shave. I paired it up with the matching aftershave which I quite liked. Scent was on the stronger side of medium. It has a good blend of ingredients to give a slight alcohol burn with a nice skin feel and has just a touch of menthol to give you a nice fresh coolness which worked very well with this scent.
If this scent sounds like it might be for you, I wouldn’t hesitate recommended this as a purchase. Like mine today, you will get a great shave with this.
