Today was an all vetiver kinda of day. I picked up this WSP Vetiver soap in a recent trade, it is my first go with a WSP Rustic Shaving Soap. Simple ingredients of Stearic Acid, Water, Coconut Oil, Potassium Hydroxide, Glycerin, Fragrance make for a straightforward and basic shave soap. That isnt a bad thing, it lathered really well, and gave a really nice shave, it just doesn’t carry all the nice skin refreshing add-ons. It is a perfectly acceptable shave soap, but won’t wow you with performance. Packaging wise, a smallish tin makes for a messy load, there could be some packaging improvements for sure. Scent wise, it was fantastic: Lemon, florals, sandalwood, patchouli, musk, and vetiver. Just the right amount of scent strength. All in all, a good soap that I would pickup if the price point was right.

I paired it up with another recent addition to the den, Fine Accoutrements Fresh Vetiver. The fragrance is based off of Tom Ford’s Grey Vetiver. It is a masculine pairing that went really well. Performance was really good, a nice little bit of cooling menthol blended nicely. Scent strength was nice, but it didn’t carry very long, you probably want to pair with an EDT if you want longevity.

A damn fine shave to start off a Tuesday.
